Bayer Leverkusen are keen to keep top striker Victor Boniface with a bigger contract offer.
Manchester United are reported to be eyeing a deal for the player in the summer, but the German champions are not ready to sell.
According to German transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg, Leverkusen have initiated discussions to extend Boniface’s contract by an additional year, keeping him at the club until 2029.
The club is also prepared to make him one of the squad’s highest earners to deter suitors and ensure his continued commitment.
By securing Boniface’s future, Bayer Leverkusen aim to build on their domestic success and strengthen their chances of competing for European honours in the coming seasons.
