Manchester City on Wednesday night ended their winless run of seven games with an emphatic 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium.
But the injuries suffered by Manu Akanji and Nathan Ake saddened coach Pep Guardiola. Goals from Bernado Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku sealed the win for City, but Akanji and Ake were casualties.
Akanji was taken off at half-time due to a reoccurring injury and Nathan Ake suffered a hamstring discomfort after a challenge and immediately asked to be substituted.
“The problems continue with Manu and Nathan,” said Guardiola.
“Nathan it doesn’t look good. Manu has struggled a lot over the last two months. I thank them for the effort they do.
“I’m sad for Nathan. Manu we’ll see. Maybe not Selhurst Park but Turin. Nathan I think will be longer. Phil [Foden] had bronchitis so when he has no fever he will be ready.”
