Alex Iwobi continued with his impressive run of form this season by scoring twice in Fulham’s 3-1 win over visiting Brighton Thursday night at the Craven Cottage.
Iwobi brought his goal haul in the Premier League to five so far in the season and his coach Marco Silva said he expects more man of the match performances from the versatile midfielder.
He was gifted the first goal when Brighton keeper Bart Verbruggen threw the ball on his path, but his second goal was classy; he latched on to a pass from Antonee Robinson, outwitted a Brighton defender and slot the ball into the far corner.
“Alex has been outstanding from the first day of pre-season,” said Silva.
“He is in a happy place and he is a fantastic footballer. Last season was his best season in the Premier League and one or two months ago I said he would be even better in this one.
“He is really versatile and I can use him in many different positions. He’s a top player with the way he can assist and score goals more than ever. What a game for him and he deserved all the credit.”
