Coach Ruben Amorim will have a taste of the Manchester derby for the first time when he leads United to the Etihad Stadium to face City who are down and looking to regain their spark.
Amorim said ahead of the game on Sunday that he is not focused on City’s loss of form, believing that they are still one of the best teams in the Premier League.
“The great teams can respond in any moment and I think they are in a better place than us in type of understanding the game, the way they play, the confidence they have,” said Amorim.
“Even in this kind of moments, we have a lot to focus on in our team. We will face a great opponent and I’m more focused on our problems. We have a lot of issues here.”
Pep Guardiola who is eager to get City back to winnings is also looking forward to the game and has acknowledge the impact Amorim has made on the United job.
“He will do a good job at Man United, for sure. His influence is already there. All the patterns, they start to do it. How good the movements everyone does it and the runners, the pace.”
Amorim, before joining United in November has already beaten Guardiola once this season during a Champions League game. City lost to away to Sporting Lisbon 4-1.
