Lekki Central Mosque in Lagos caused a stir Wednesday on various social media platforms when it displayed a banner, which did not go down well with the Christians Faithfuls.
“Jesus Christ is not God. He is a Prophet and Messenger of God!” The banner hanging on the gate of the Mosque read. Social media users made their feeling known, some described the banner as inflammatory and capable of causing an uproar in the community.
Others, however, defended the banner, arguing that the statement reflects Islamic teachings and has been affirmed by some Christian pastors in the past.
