Liverpool are sitting pretty on top of the Premier League with seven points clear and with a game in hand, but manager Arne Slot has warned his players that “anything can happen.”
Liverpool will be at West Ham to shop for more points on Sunday and Slot reminded his squad there are many challenges ahead.
“If you’ve been in this game as long as the players and I have, you know there are still so many challenges ahead,” said Slot.
“With 20 games to go, anything can happen—injuries, bad luck, you name it. It’s far too early to start celebrating, but of course, it’s a good position to be in.”
Slot also pointed to reigning champions Manchester City’s current situation, having won just one of their last 13 games, as a reminder of how quickly fortunes can change in football.
“Manchester City’s current position shows how unpredictable this league can be. You can’t take anything for granted.”
