Ola Aina is enjoying the best of his season at Nottingham Forest and former Super Eagles and Chelsea midfield meastro John Obi Mikel has hailed rise of the mobile right back.
Aina is a product of the Chelsea academy together with Tammy Abraham. The defender made six appearances for the Blues during the 2016/17 campaign, under Anthonio Conte. Due to lack of game time, he joined Hull in the 2018 season in the Championship and went on to join Torino of Italy, from where he moved Nottingham Forest in 2023.
This season he has been one of the outstanding players in Forest scoring twice from 19 games.
“He has had a good season so far. One thing he has added to his game this season is that he’s defending well. He is putting in a lot of crosses now and, of course, chipping in a couple of goals as well, which is absolutely fantastic to see,” Mikel said on Obi One Podcast.
“Listen, we all knew he was a fantastic player at the club. He has gone to Forest and has been playing well since returning to the Premier League from Italy.”
