The Police in Osun State are keeping a man and his wife after the husband allegedly stabbed the founder of Rapture Empowerment International Osogbo Bishop Shina Olaribigbe.
Osun police command spokesperson Yemisi Opalola disclosed that the incident happened Thursday when the husband found the Bishop sleeping on his wife’s bed and in a rage, he grabbed the knife and stabbed the Bishop to death.
It was gathered that the wife attends Rapture Empowerment International church and has worked as an interpreter for the Bishop. She and her husband have been separated due to disagreements, which the Bishop himself intervened. But on Thursday, the husband visited his wife who had been sick for some time for possible reconciliation only to see the Bishop laying comfortably on her bed.
“We were informed that the Bishop was at the woman’s house today (Thursday) when the husband arrived. We were also told that the husband stabbed the pastor,” Opalola stated.
“The husband stabbed him several times, and he died. It is believed the husband acted on suspicion that the pastor was having an affair with his wife.”
The body of the Bishop has been deposited in the morgue, while the couple remain behind bars.
