Kannywood actress Samha M. Inuwa has been barred from making movies in Kano State for one year over indecent dressing and posting of vulgar content.
The Kano State government said in a statement that the operating license of the actress has been revoked by the Kano Censorship Board.
“The Kano State Censorship Board emphasised that it is legally mandated to ensure all creative works, including films and writings, align with the state’s religious, cultural, and moral values.
“This suspension is part of the board’s ongoing efforts to maintain moral standards in the Kannywood film industry and ensure strict adherence to its rules and regulations,” said the statement signed by the board’s Information Officer, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, on Saturday.
According to the statement, the development was in response to multiple complaints received from Kano citizens regarding her conduct.
Sulaiman explained that the actress who was repeatedly warned over her “crude dressing and vulgar displays,” has continued to flout the Board’s regulations.
