Nigeria Football Federation is set to announce a new coach for the Super Eagles in the next few days.
Though the identity of the coach recommended by the NFF technical committee is still being kept under wraps by the nation’s football ruling body, former president of the Federation Mr. Amaju Pinnick stated that the new man on the bench is going to be an enterprising coach who has what it takes to take the national team to greater heights.
Former Super Eagles defender and NFF technical director Austin Eguaveon had handle the team since an experiment with George Finidi also a former Super Eagles great failed. The NFF gauging public opinion after the team struggled in their last two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers opted for a new coach who will put the team in the front burner of their AFCON campaign and the World Cup qualification the Super Eagles are precariously hanging on the cliff.
“I know a lot is going on. First, they need to have funds so that they don’t say that we are owning and that the Chairman of the Sports Commission is working with them in ensuring that it is done, which also I believe they’ve done that just last week,” Pinnick told Channels TV.
“Any moment from now I’m sure they will be announcing a coach, an enterprising coach. I have heard about who they are bringing.”
