Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is angry with Victor Osimhen after he turned down the chance to join Manchester United.
Osimhen according to La Repubblica newspaper reports told Napoli director Giovanni Manna he would not leave Galatasaray until the end of the season, when the deal to join United in January was suggested to him.
De Laurentiis was angry with his top striker’s position. He found Osimhen contract negotiations problematic after he had back and forth with Osimhen before he signed the present contract that keeps him at Napoli till 2026.
The Napoli boss saw it as another example of Osimhen trying to make things difficult for him. Osimhen had a clause of €120m tied to the contract he signed in December 2023 as Napoli hoped to cash in, but no club came close with an offer in the summer transfer even when Napoli was ready to drop their demand to €75m. Bids from Chelsea and the Saudi Pro-League collapsed paving way for Osimhen to join Galatasaray on loan.
