The police in Asaba Delta State have arrest a 20-year-old woman Princess Okilo and her boyfriend Prince Atigbi for faking her kidnapping and collecting N2m ransom from her parents.
According to the Delta State police spokesperson Bright Edafe the mother of the lady Joy Okilo reported that her daughter got missing on December 30, 2024. The next day she received a call that her daughter has been kidnapped and a ransom of N2million demanded for her release.
“The commander of the special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber-Crime Squad CSP Labe Joseph detailed operatives who embarked on an intelligence-led investigation which led to the arrest of the lady’s boyfriend Prince Atigbi,” said Edafe.
On interrogation the boyfriend admitted that it was Princess Okilo who orchestrated her own kidnap to collect money from her parents and he was only following her orders. The lovers are still being held by the police while the ransom money has been recovered.
