Rapper Darlington Achakpo a.k.a Speed Darlington has been granted bail by a high court sitting in Abuja, but now he is rallying round to perfect his bail conditions.
Speed Darlington was plucked from the stage he was performing in Owerri, Imo State last November allegedly at the prompting of fellow musician Burna Boy, who claimed he had been defamed by Speed Darlington.
Before the latest arrest the controversial rapper had dragged Burna Boy to reveal the secret of his Grammy Award win. Burna Boy responded by inviting the police to lock up Speed Darlington, however after about a week, Burna Boy had him released based on the pleading by Speed Darlington’s mother.
But in November Speed Darlington ramped up his assault on Burna Boy and the “Last Last” singer vowed to make Speed Darlington rot in jail.
However, based Speed Darlington’s petition to the Inspector General of Police challenging his continued detention, he was granted bail by the court.
“Police finally arraigns Speed Darlington in court. Bail application moved and granted. We are trying to perfect same,” Speed Darlington’s lawyer Deji Adeyanju wrote on X Wednesday.
