Victor Osimhen’s brush with media men at nightclub recently may have been orchestrated by Fenerbahce to unsettle on the on-loan Galatasaray striker.
Following the incident concerned Galatasaray insiders tried to unearth those behind the affront on Osimhen when three media cameramen sneaked up on him while on night out with friends. Osimhen’s attempt to stop them from filming him led to some altercations and one of the camera men claimed Osimhen had punched him. Osimhen denied he ever struck the cameraman.
It was reported that Acun Ilıcalı, Fenerbahçe vice president, may have planted the media men on Osimhen with a view of causing him distraction so that he loses focus on scoring for Galatasaray who are currently topping the Turkey league with 10 points clear of Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.
“A manager of our rival club (Acun Ilıcalı) is a media mogul. He may be hiring people just to follow you and find your weaknesses. Their goal is to make you unhappy and uncomfortable and to kidnap you,” Fotospor quoted a source from Galatasaray.
Reacting to the development Osimhen said:“I’m sure this was done to me intentionally. It would have been done in Italy too. But they only tried to get into my car. They (Turkish journalists) literally harassed me. I’ve never seen anything like it, which is why I will be suing.”
