Ademola Lookman may be out of action for a month after picking a knee injury during training ahead of Atalanta’s Champions League game Wednesday night.
Atalanta confirmed in a statement that lateral joint in his right knee will undergo tests in Bergamo. Lookman will miss a couple Serie A games and he is expected to undergo sugery and a recovery plan.
So far this season, Lookman has scored 14 goals and provided six assists in all competitions and Atalanta will surely miss him while he is out injured.
Reacting to his star player’s injury coach Gian Piero Gasperini said it was a pity Lookman will miss action and it is also a pity the club will not have him.
“Clearly, Lookman’s absence will be a pity both for us and for him as well,” Gasperini said.
“We’ll see. As I said before, our aim is to take to the pitch what we do best.”
