Former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi has been blowing hot since leaving political office, because he didn’t get what he wanted from former President Muhammadu Buhari.
President Bola Tinubu’s ally and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Ayekooto Akindele, made this allegation stressing that Amaechi who on Monday at the strengthening democracy in Nigeria national conference in Abuja, berated “thieving, killing and conniving” politicians for the country’s predicament.
“The politician is there in Nigeria to steal, maim, and kill to remain in power. If you think Tinubu will give it to you, you are wasting your time,” said Amaechi who served as Minister of Transport in Buhari’s eight-year regime. He urged Nigerians to fight and take back their country.
But Mr. Akindele stated Amaechi is bitter and unforgiving because Buhari failed to back his bid to be the All-Progressives Congress flag bearer in the 2023 elections and also didn’t push for him to have a cabinet position in Tinubu’s government.
“Two reasons Amaechi will never forgive Buhari; despite procuring a chieftaincy title in Daura and allocating a Transportation University there, Buhari didn’t impose him on the APC. Chai, this is unforgivable,” Akindele wrote on his Facebook page on Friday
“Resigning to run marathon for APC ticket and lost shamelessly, despite begging Buhari to allow him return as minister, Buhari was just saying MININI as he didn’t understand what he was saying”.
