Nathan Tella said he is focused on how to improve on his game with his club Bayer Leverkusen so that he could have express invitation to the Super Eagles.
Tella scored in Bayer Leverkusen’s Champions League 2-0 win over Sparta Prague Wednesday night and according to him he wants to keep delivering for the club as they camp in the Bundesliga and in Europe. He has played just once for the Super Eagles and that was in the World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe in November 2023.
Asked if he is hoping to catch the eyes of Super Eagles coach, Tella said: , “Ultimately, it’s not for me to decide. I need to earn a call-up based on my performance.
‘I will continue to work hard, and if the coach believes I’ve done enough, I would be honoured to accept an invitation. If not, I’ll keep striving to improve.
“I will continue to do what is right at my club to gain recognition back home,” he told Germany-based Nigerian journalist Oma Akatugba.
