Football fans and pundits can argue all they want who is their greatest player, but for Alex Iwobi there is no argument, his greatest of all time is none other than Austin “Jay Jay” Okocha.
Though the former Super Eagles captain did not win many laurels commiserate to his skills, he remains one of most talked about footballer in the world, because of his football artistry and the smile he wears on his face whenever he plays the game.
Asked who he would pick as his GOAT during an appearance on the ‘Is This Seat Taken?’ podcast, Iwobi said he looks no further than his famous uncle.
“My GOAT us forever my uncle, Jay Jay Okocha. I have to shout him out all the time. He’s always a legend on and off the field. I used to watch his training sessions and matches. He is the one who taught me how to express myself.
“Off the field, he advises me on how to be professional, manage my money, how to move and stay humble and grounded. So, he will always be my idol,” he said.
