Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle said he is banking on legends like Austin Jay Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu and others to help motivate his players as they play Rwanda and Zimbabwe in the group C 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The Super Eagles need to win both games to bounce back to reckoning in the group they are second place from the bottom with four points. Coach Eric Chelle has been travelling in Europe to meet the player to prepare their minds for the battles ahead.
“I have invited Nigerian legends to join us in this battle and I’m happy that they have accepted,” Eric Chelle was quote.
“I want to assure Nigerians we are going to be prepared for the matches, and we will do whatever it takes to be back on track.”
Eric Chelle is expected back in Nigeria to finalise preparations with home-based Super Eagles players ahead of announcing his squad for the qualifiers. The team will face Rwanda in March in Kigali and return to Uyo to face Zimbabwe.
Eric Chelle needs to deliver result to reassure Nigerians and the Nigeria Football Federation he is up to the task.
