Arsenal defender William Saliba insists this generation of Arsenal stars must “win something” to be remembered alongside the legendary names that have graced the iconic red and white jersey of the Gunners.
Saliba who has been a regular in Mikel Arteta’s squad since making his debut in 2022, said he and his teammates need to put their names into the history books just like Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, and Tony Adams, Patrick Viera and many others in the Invincible squad.
Arsenal have fallen short in their quest for the Premier League title over the last two seasons, with Manchester City proving to be their stumbling block on both occasions.
“I think we are so close (to winning titles) because we have a good team and manager,” he told Gulf News in Dubai
“The last two seasons, we were close to winning the title, but unfortunately, we didn’t. We know we are on the way. We just need to keep going like this — I’m sure if we keep going like this, we will win something.
“We have to win something if we want to be remembered by the fans when we retire.”
