Arsenal striker Kai Havertz has suffered a torn hamstring injury training with team in Dubai.
The Gunners are expected to miss Havertz’s contributions for the rest of the season. Havertz who returned with the squad to London on Tuesday night is expected to undergo medical examination to assess the gravity of the injury.
The Germany international has been a crucial part of Arsenal’s attack so far this season, scoring 15 goals and registering five assists across all competitions.
His most recent goal came in Arsenal’s 5-1 demolition of defending champions Manchester City at The Emirates earlier this month.
The injury is a bitter blow for the north London club’s title hopes, with their other star striker Gabriel Jesus also currently injured.
The Brazil international suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury to his left knee during Arsenal’s defeat against Manchester United in the third round of the FA Cup.
Arsenal also look light out wide after injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
England international Saka has missed his side’s last seven Premier League fixtures after picking up a hamstring injury against Crystal Palace in December.
The Gunners are currently second in the Premier League table, six points behind league leaders Liverpool. They will be at the King Power Stadium Saturday to face Leicester City.
