Former Super Eagles captain and Chelsea great John Obi Mikel said he would be doing everything he can to ensure Victor Osimhen sign for Chelsea in the summer.
Osimhen keeps drawing attention of football world to him with his goal scoring spree in the Turkey League, he bagged a brace in Monday night’s game against Rizespor to put his club Galatasaray seven points clear on the table.
So far he has scored 19 goals in all competitions from 24 games in his season long loan spell at Gala.
Osimhen is on the radar of Manchester United, Newcastle and Chelsea.
According to Mikel who was speaking on his podcast Obi One, Osimhen has Chelsea in his and hopefully he would be at Stamford Bridge next season.
“Of course, Victor is at Galatasaray, scoring goals, doing what he knows best. Still trying to get him to come to Chelsea. Still pressing my buttons, trying to see where we can get things done, hopefully, you never know,” Mikel said
“The guy is doing really well, the door is open for him, the world is his oyster because he keeps scoring goals and there’s a lot of clubs knocking on the door so you never know in the summer where he is going to go.
“I’m sure Victor’s a smart guy. Chelsea has always been his club. He’s come out openly and said that its his childhood club, he’s always wanted to play for the club.
“His idol is Didier Drogba, he loved the way he played. He’s made it pretty clear that this is the club he wants to come to. I don’t think the door is shut completely.”
