Latina pop star Shakira has revealed her sadness at not being able to perform in Lima, Peru after she was hospitalised and later discharged Monday.
She was scheduled to appear in the much await Monday night, which was part of her “Women Don’t Cry Anymore 2025” World Tour.
In a statement posted on Instagram and X, the singer said she had to “go to the emergency room” for an abdominal condition.
“I am sorry to inform you that last night I had to go to the emergency room for an abdominal condition and I am hospitalised at this time. The doctors who are treating me have told me that I am not in a condition to perform a concert tonight,” said the Colombian singer.
“I’m very sad not to be able to take the stage today. I have been with great excitement and enthusiasm to meet my dear Peruvian audience. I hope tomorrow to be better, and that I will be discharged as soon as possible to present the show I have prepared for all of you.”
Local news outlets indicated that she departed Clinica Delgado just hours after being admitted for an abdominal ailment.
“My plan is to perform this show as soon as possible. My team and the promoter are already working on a new date,” she stated.
