Gunmen who injured a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) pastor, Austin Ifeji, killed his son and kidnapped his wife are asking for a N30m ransom.
The gunmen raided the home of pastor Ifeji in the Mararaba area of Nasarawa State in the early hours of Monday February 17 and inflicted several machete cuts on the pastor; his son the only male in the family of five kids who could not bear the gunmen manhandling his mother stepped in to defend her and he was shot dead instantly.
“He Couldn’t Bear Seeing Them Manhandle His Mother, So He Confronted Them, And They Shot Him,” said a source close to the family.
Meanwhile, the Nasarawa State Police Command, through its spokesperson Rahman Nansel, stated that it is yet to receive an official briefing on the incident. Authorities are urged to take swift action to secure the victim’s release and bring the perpetrators to justice.
