Atalanta president Antonio Percassi and his CEO son Luca Percassi have planned a sit-down for coach Gian Piero Gasperini and striker Ademola Lookman following their spat in the wake of the club’s defeat in Tuesday night’s Champions League to Club Brugge.
Coach Gasperini scolded Lookman after he missed a penalty, which he believed could spurred a fight back from Atalanta who were already 3-0 down. Lookman who came into the game after the damaged have been done scored in the 46th minute. But Brugge keeper Simon Mignolet denied Lookman from the spot.
Gasperini raged after the game that Lookman was not supposed to take the kick adding that he is the worst penalty taker he has ever seen. Lookman responded saying the coach’s comments were “disrespectful.”
Sky Sport Italia reported that the Percassi family will be at the at the training ground in Bergamo on Thursday for a face-to-face meeting with feuding duo and calm the tension in the dressing room.
