Arsenal seem to have turned on the heat as they chase Liverpool for the Premier League title and coach Arne Slot has warned his players not to look over their shoulders to see what their competitors are doing.
Liverpool top the log with 61 points, eight points clear from Arsenal who have a game in hand. A win for the Gunners against West Ham in a London derby Saturday will put Liverpool within reach, they play against Manchester City on Sunday at the Etihad Stadium. It would be a test of their intention to win the title.
“We know we have 12 games to play, and Arsenal has 13 games to play. If we constantly look at Arsenal or what other teams are doing, that will not help us. We already know how difficult it is to go to the Etihad, so we don’t need Arsenal to get involved in that even more,” said Slot.
Depending on which Man City team that turns, Liverpool know they cannot drop points at the Etihad Stadium if they hope to win the title, they need to fire on all cylinders against City who despite their misfortunes this season are still in contention for the title and a top four finish, they would no doubt be aiming for a win.
