Cyriel Dessers has warned his Rangers teammates to turn up and finish the job when they play Fenerbahce in the second leg of the Europa League at the Ibrox Stadium next week.
Dessers was on the scoresheet as Rangers beat Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce 3-1 in Thursday night’s first league tie at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul.
“We will need to be at our best and we need the fans, all of Ibrox, everybody. I know we are ready for it and hopefully we can finish the job there,” said Dessers who is making a return to the Super Eagles in their World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe this month.
He said Fenerbahçe has top players who could swing the game around in Glasgow, and Rangers must step up their game.
“I know the place will be bouncing and that is what we will need because everybody saw Fenerbahce as a very good team, individually they have some top-quality players.
“If you look at players like Edin Dzeko, Dusan Tadic, that’s world class for me. Their manager as well, he will have a plan next week. So, we need to be prepared, have the same discipline, maybe even more energy, even more efficiency and then something’s possible. But we know the tie is not over.”
