Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta would want England to give up and coming striker Ethan Nwaneri a chance to star for the Three Lions.
This is coming on the backgrounds of calls by Nigerian fans for the Nigeria Football Federation to approach the player with a view of joining the likes of Ademola Lookman, Ola Aina, Alex Iwobi who joined the Super Eagles despite having played for the English youth teams.
Arteta who was speaking Friday ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash against Manchester United said he would be happy if England manager Thomas Tuchel and his coaching staff call up Nwaneri.
“I have no idea about his international career other than what I’ve read and heard,” Arteta told Arsenal’s official website.
“Thomas and his coaches will take the decision, and we will support it.
“Knowing Thomas and his coaching staff and the environment they have created in the England camp, I think it would be an incredible experience for them if that is the case, whenever that is.
“That’s not my decision; how we manage him here is in our control, but there they will be coached by people that are super experienced, far more experienced than me!”
