Former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai said the government of President Bola Tinubu buoyed by the All-Progressives Congress has turned into a business enterprise where everything has a price.
El-Rufai who dumped the APC and joined the Social Democratic Party stated that everyone in the administration is pursuing personal interest and amassing wealth to the detriment of the masses.
“The APC abandoned the ideals that led to its formation,” El-Rufai told BBC Hausa in an interview.
“It has abandoned the people. Everyone is now pursuing personal interests and wealth. The government has become a business enterprise where everything has a price.”
El-Rufai who had been accused of nursing bitterness for not being a minister in Tinubu’s government after helping Tinubu to win the election in 2023 denied he clamoured to be a Minister: “Did I seek to be minister? I know people who paid to get ministerial appointments.
“However, I did not regret supporting Tinubu’s presidential ambition, but I feel disappointed,” El-Rufai stated.
He submitted that Tinubu’s government has been hijacked a group from Lagos who hold key appointments in the cabinet.
“There is no justice. Those who worked for the party are not recognised, let alone rewarded. “Appointments are now controlled by a select group from Lagos. The party is dead,” El-Rufai said.
