Nigeria Football Federation said the two World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe are a must win games for the Super Eagles.
The Super Eagles will face joint group C leaders Rwanda in Kigali Friday, and they will fly back to Uyo to tackle bottom placed Zimbabwe on Tuesday, March 25. The Super Eagles are yet to win any of their games in the qualifier a win in the back-to-back ties will revamp their qualification chances for the 2026 World Cup.
“The NFF charge the players to go all out for the six points in both matches to boost Nigeria’s qualification hopes,” NFF said after its executive committee meeting in Abuja.
It also called on all Nigerians to support and encourage the team in whatever fair and proper way they are competent to, in order to guarantee victory in both matches.
Meanwhile the Super Eagles had their first training session under coach Eric Chelle Tuesday evening in Kigali. Twenty-two players took part in the session. They will have two more training sessions.
