Nigeria’s Super Eagles touched down in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State Saturday afternoon ahead of their group C World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe Warriors on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles on Friday evening put their 2026 World Cup campaign in the right gear after beating Rwanda 2-0 in Kigali. They are expected to resume light training on Sunday for the match billed for the Godswill Akpabio Stadium a venue they team has achieved mixed result.
Meanwhile team captain Williams Troost-Ekong said the Super Eagles are determined to work together as a team to do more than they did in Kigali.
“The win against Rwanda was a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication. Everyone played their part, and it is this unity that will drive us forward.”
“We try to understand what the coach wants from us. We have only had two training sessions and lots of video sessions too.”
