With a game in hand Remo Stars sit on top of the Nigeria Premier Football League and in the calculations of former Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye the 2025 title is as good as gone to the Ikenne, Ogun State based team.
If they are able to run down the clock and win it would be the first title for Remo Stars having come close as runners-up in the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Remo whose away game against Lobi was off the cards this weekend are on 57 points, with George Finidi’s Rivers United trailing with 50 points. Ikorodu United, the surprise team of the season are third with 46 points as they battled Rivers United on Sunday.
“In my opinion, Remo Stars have the best chance of winning the league, but football is unpredictable. The title is theirs to lose,” Ideye who plays for Enyimba said.
“For Enyimba, securing a continental spot is achievable. If we win all our remaining home games and get good results away, I believe we can return to the continent.”
