The Athletics Federation of Nigeria has scheduled a congress for April 9-10 in Yenegoa, Bayelsa State.
All board members, chairmen of all the 36 States and the FCT Athletics Associations are expected to attend the congress, which the AFN described as strategic.
The Congress which will be hold at the Golden Tulip, Onopa Yenagoa will discuss issues concerning rescheduled competitions, athletes welfare and the up coming sports federations elections.
The AFN leadership, it was learnt will also use the occasion to address issues raised at the last AFN Congress that was held in Asaba, Delta State where Congress approved Asaba as venue for election as well the federation’s annual calendar of activities.
It was also gathered that the Congress will appraise the outing of the foreign legion of Nigerian athIetes so far in the season and make its recommendations to the National Sports Commission (NSC).
