Former vice president and Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar spared no punches as he categorised the Senate president Godswill Akpabio as high corrupt and a woman abuser.
Atiku who speaking against the back of sexual harassment allegations levelled against Akpabio by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduagha said during a chat on Arise TV that Senator Akpabio has had a long history of being corrupt adding it was the same attitude he has brought to the Senate.
“He was corrupt. Not only was he corrupt, he was in the habit of abusing women. I got that report before,” Atiku said.
He added that the Akpabio led senate rubber stamping President Bola Tinubu’s declared state of emergency in Rivers State was not surprising to him, because Akpabio has always been a corrupt politician.
“I was not surprised because the leadership is corrupt. I have no apologies about that. They could do anything. The Senate president is known to have had those kinds of character when he was a governor. I got the reports quiet along.’’
