Fulham’s manager Marco Silva said beating Liverpool 3-2 was something special they have to give to their fans after they lost to Arsenal 2-1 in a London derby last weekend.
First half goals from Ryan Sessegnon, Alex Iwobi and Rodrigo Muniz to wrap up the victory, as Liverpool suffered a setback in their march to win the Premier League title. They still hold 11 points lead over their closest rivals Arsenal who are second with 62 points.
“Great three points for us, I really believe we deserve it. Our first half was a very good level in every aspect of the game,” said Silva.
“The three points were important for us after the last nine days, three big games, the first two we didn’t get what we wanted so today was another big game against, probably, the next champions, to bounce back. It was important for us to give something back (to the fans) for environment and atmosphere in the last two games at Craven Cottage.
“We have to always be on, always take care of ourselves, and the last two months of the season we have to push really hard. The next one, we have to be well-prepared for Bournemouth as it will be a tough game.”
Meanwhile Silva praise Calvin Bassey for his display in the tipping him to be a great central defender in the Premier League.
“Calvin has all the skills to be a top central defender. He ticks all the boxes to be a top, top player. Now he has to be more consistent,” Silva stated.
