Former Chelsea midfield star and Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has hinted that Napoli top striker Victor Osimhen is open to joining the London club and Chelsea management just need to walk in and get him.
But it seems Chelsea are looking for options as Osimhen’s unwillingness to lower his wage demands remains a sticky point. Speaking on his Podcast “Obi One” Mikel who played 12 seasons with Chelsea and won all available club competitions titles said: “Listen, it will be really sad if we don’t get a player who supported us a kid and wants to play for this Football Club.
“His idol is Drogba, he will want to break records, win us trophies, get us back to the top, come for Drogba’s records. I’m telling you that would be his mission.
“If the club chose not to pursue it.. then well fair enough, good luck to them, but the good thing about it is we know where we left it, we can literally pick the phone up and get him straight in the door. Get him in!”
Mikel and Drogba have been pushing for Chelsea to sign Osimhen, they tried last summer but disagreements on wages killed the deal. Osimhen who has taken the Turkish league by storm scoring 28 goals from 32 games and making five assists for Galatasaray has indicated his wish to play in the Premier League.
