Ahead of their second leg Champions League tie Wednesday night Real Madrid players Jude Bellingham and Antonio Rudiger were at each other’s throats over a bad training tackle as they prepare for Arsenal at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid are looking for a win that will upturn the 3-0 defeat they suffered at the Emirates Stadium last week, but it seems tempers are flaring in training and in matches. Last weekend against Alves striker Kylian Mbappe was sent off for a bad tackle.
And then on Monday during training according to reports in Spain Rudiger brought down Bellingham with an ugly tackle and the English midfielder didn’t like it and the two players also most came to blows, but for teammates who separated them.
Bellingham and Rudiger are both expected to be in the lineup that will face the Gunners who must avoid a heavy defeat to stay in line for a semi-final appearance, but Bellingham believes Real Madrid can still progress.
“There is a second leg, and that’s what we’re holding on to. We need something really special, something crazy really but one place where crazy things happen is our house.
“We’ve got 90 more minutes at home to pull something out of the bag. We’re still alive, we’ve got 90 mins of football, and anything can happen at the Bernabeu.”
