Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen in broad day light Wednesday invaded Emichi village in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State leaving scores of people.
The invasion started around 2.00pm with the gunmen suspected to herdsmen shooting sporadically to scare off the community members. There was no presence of security agents to deter the attackers.
This latest attack is coming 24 hours after 11 persons were killed in a similar attack in Otobi community in the Akpa district of the Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State on Tuesday.
According to Kennedy Angbo representing Otukpo-Akpa in the Benue State House of Assembly the attack started around 5:30 pm on Tuesday.
“Right now, many people are feared killed, and hundreds of people have fled the community,” the lawmaker said.
