Liverpool will make another attempt to sign Victor Osimhen in the summer, a journalist Buchi Laba close to the Galatasaray on-loan striker has predicted.
According to Laba Liverpool were frustrated by Napoli last summer, but desperate to find a replacement for Darwin Nunez, the Reds who are currently topping he Premier League table would be back again at the close of the season.
“Massive Upgrade not replace. Liverpool were one of the English teams that are heavily frustrated by Napoli wanting to do a deal at the start of the season.. they gave all access to Chelsea.
“They came back again in January 2025 and I’m 100% sure they will come back in June,” Laba posted on his X social media page.
Last week Napoli and Manchester United were reported to have agreed on a deal for the transfer of the player with a release clause set at 75 million euros. Osimhen himself noted that he would make his next destination known at the end of the season.
Liverpool will offer an attraction to Osimhen with the chance to play in the Champions League, but it remains to be seen what will happen at the end of the summer transfer window.
