Veteran Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season and take up the job of the Brazilian national team manager.
According to several reports Ancelotti has reached an agreement with the Brazilian Football Federation as his days at Real Madrid drew near a close following their loss to Arsenal in the Champions League semi-final and the Copa del Rey final to rivals Barcelona.
Though fans are highly appreciative of Ancelotti’s contributions to their club, the prospect Real Madrid ending the season without a trophy had them wishing he was gone. Real Madrid are four points behind Barcelona with five games left in the La Liga contest. Both teams will clash on May 11 in the last El Clasico of the season. Perhaps Ancelotti could still win a trophy for Real Madrid.
Ancelotti’s legacy at Real Madrid is among the most celebrated in the club’s history. In two spells with the team, he has won major trophies including three UEFA Champions League titles (2014, 2022 and 2025), two Copa del Rey trophies, and two La Liga titles in 2022 and 2024.
