Arsenal legend and midfield maestro Patrick Vieira is sticking out his neck for Arsenal to beat Paris St Germain in Wednesday’s Champions League second leg semi-final at the Parc des Princes Paris.
The Gunners who had been dominant in their Champions League campaign especially in the quarter-final tie against Real Madrid, failed to lift up their game when they fell to an early goal scored by Ousmane Dembele at the Emirates Stadium to give PSG 1-0 advantage going to the second leg.
That defeat seems to have sapped the energy of the Gunners. Last Saturday they lost to Bournemouth 2-1 at home, and now they have a mountain to climb when they clash with PSG in France.
But according to Vieira who is now coach at Italian Serie A side Genoa, Arsenal have all it takes to cause an upset.
‘Honestly, I strongly believe that they can come back. And I’m 100 per cent sure that the group of players and the manager know that they can come back, there’s no doubt about it, the former Arsenal captain told The Telegraph.
‘They will have to play the perfect game away from home. They did it before and they have a quality of players who can do it.
‘They still have a good chance. They are still alive.’
