Natasha violated gag order, Akpabio urges Court to make her delete “satirical apology”

By posting a ‘satirical apology’ meant for Senate president Godswil Akpabio on her Facebook page, Natasha Akpoti-Ugduaghan violated a Federal High Court order barring her and Akpabio from making public statements concerning their case before the court.
Legal counsel to Senator Akpabio led by Kehinde Ogunwumiju, a SAN submitted urged the Court to compel Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan to delete the apology from all her social media platforms.
For violating the gag order, Akpabio’s legal team is also asking the court to compel Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to make a public apology to be published in at least two national newspapers and an affidavit of compliance confirming her adherence to these directives.
The Kogi Central senatorial representative and Akpabio are in Court over her suspension from the Senator in March. Justice Binta Nyako presiding over the case at a Federal High Court sitting Abuja had forbidden both parties from making public statements on the matter before the court, after the request was made by Akpabio’s legal team. allo
The feud between Akpoti-Uduaghan and Akpabio blew open during a Senate session where Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was allocated a new seat, which did not go down well with her. She had an open confrontation with Akpabio on the floor of the senate. She was suspended on March 6, 2025, following the blow up.
Shortly afterwards Akpoti-Uduaghan claimed it was because she rebuffed Akpabio’s sexual advances, that he often antagonised her. Senator Akpabio denied the allegations of sexual harassments, which Akpoti-Uduaghan vowed to present evidence, when the need arises.
