Indian and Pakistan have been trading accusations on who is responsible for violating the day old ceasefire agreement entered by both countries to end the crisis in the Kashmir region.
Earlier on Saturday India and Pakistan agreed to pause the exchange of gunfire a development that was applauded by world leaders.
But by 6.30pm GMT Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri accused Pakistan of continuing with attacks
“For the last few hours, there have been repeated violations of the understanding we arrived at earlier this evening.
“This is a breach of the understanding arrived at earlier today.”
He added that India’s armed forces are “giving an appropriate response” and he concludes his briefing by “calling upon Pakistan to address these violations”.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry has responded to that statement made by Vikram Misri.
“Pakistan remains committed to faithful implementation of ceasefire between Pakistan and India, announced earlier today.
“Notwithstanding the violations being committed by India in some areas, our forces are handling the situation with responsibility and restraint.
“We believe that any issues in smooth implementation of the ceasefire should be addressed through communication at appropriate levels.
“The troops on ground should also exercise restraint.”
