Peter Obi has given a clarification of his perceived beef with President Bola Tinubu.
Obi who contested against Tinubu under the Labour Party banner in the 2023 elections said Monday that for him it was all about good governance and not individuals.
Obi who was in the Nigeria delegation to the Vatican to attend Pope Leo XIV inauguration said on return from Rome that he was not fighting anyone but focused on social issues.
“I and the President are not fighting. I’m not fighting anybody. My fight is against bad governance, against hunger, against poverty, against out-of-school children, against people not having health services,” he said.
Obi submitted that there was too much focus on politicking instead of politicians addressing issues that concern Nigerians the most.
“In this country, we talk about politics and abandon what we should be talking about. What we should be talking about is how we’re going to educate these children,” he said.
