Victor Osimhen has turned down the €26m per season salary offered him by Saudi side Al-Hilal and also his club Napoli want the full €75m release clause to be paid.
This was after Al-Hilal desperate to have Osimhen before June 10 tabled a bid for the player. According to Football Italia reports Al-Hilal put €65m on the table plus bonuses, but this was rejected by Napoli.
Al-Hilal’s new coach Simone Inzaghi has urged the club not to give up as he needs Osimhen to boost his attacking options in his quest to dominate the Saudi league. He also made a personal phone call to Osimhen to join him in Saudi Arabia.
But Osimhen who is eying a good offer from the Premier League and other top European clubs has not agreed to the salary and bonuses offered him, believing the €26m per season pay is not big enough to attract him to Saudi Arabia.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are the Premier League clubs that have shown interest in signing Osimhen, but the high price is making to them to consider other options. Galatasaray are also keen to keep him in Turkey.
