With Victor Osimhen seemingly heading into transfer uncertainty after rejecting megabucks Al Hilal deal, Galatasaray vice president Ibrahim Hatipoglu said their chances of keeping the player in Turkey increases every passing day.
Osimhen last week rejected a big pay day deal to join Saudi side Al Hilal; though he is reportedly in talks with Liverpool and Manchester United, there are no concrete offers from the Premier League he wished to play next season.
However, according to Hatipoglu, Galatasaray are on standby and ready to make a deal with the Super Eagles star who had a successful loan spell with the Galatasaray, and he is back to base in Napoli waiting for the next move.
His contract expires next year with Napoli having an option to extend it to 2027 as the Italian side is determined not lose a dime concerning his transfer. They are willing to trade with any club outside Serie A who can match their €75m release clause and the rest depends on Osimhen to negotiate his wages.
“When they offered us Osimhen, we didn’t need a striker, but we signed him in two days.” Hatipoglu told AS via TMW.
“Abdullah Kavukcu, head of transfers, is handling the process alongside Italian agent George Gardi. With each passing day, the chances of Osimhen staying at Galatasaray increase.”
