A woman in Noida City, Uttar Pradesh State of India has left her matrimonial home and reported her husband to the police after she lost two Instagram followers.
The woman identified only as Nisha complained to the police that her husband told her to concentrate on taking care of the home rather than spend her time on social media. And in the process, she lost two Instagram followers.
She claimed that because of the house chores she was unable to make reels, which attracted followers to her page. She usually made two short reels a day, but her husband’s instruction made it impossible to meet up; and in the process, she noticed that she lost two followers.
After a heated argument with husband, she left her marital home and returned to her parents’ house in Pilkhuwa town in the state’s Hapur district.
There, she filed a formal complaint against her husband at the women’s police station in Hapur.
“My followers declined as I was kept busy washing utensils and cleaning of the house by my husband. I didn’t get time to make reels,” Nisha told the police.
However, according to The Independent reports the couple were counselled by the police.
“Nisha had filed a complaint of harassment against her husband. When the husband presented his side, we stepped in to mediate and the couple were counselled,” said Aruna Rai, Station House Officer of Hapur Mahila Thana.
