Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Wednesday, there was no way his country would surrender to Israel as demanded by US President Donald Trump.
Israel launched strikes at Iranian nuclear and military facilities last Friday killing top army officers and scientists. Iran has fired back as causalities continue to mount in five days of fighting. Iran warned the US not to get involved in the conflict.
“This nation will never surrender to imposition from anyone,” said Khamenei.
“America should know that any military intervention will undoubtedly result in irreparable damage.”
“Intelligent people who know Iran, the Iranian nation, and its history will never speak to this nation in threatening language because the Iranian nation will not surrender.
“The Americans should know that any US military intervention will undoubtedly be accompanied by irreparable damage,” he added.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei did not elaborate, but thousands of American troops are based in nearby countries within range of Iran’s weapons. The U.S. has threatened a massive response to any attack.
