The Chioma Ajunwa Foundation is set to organise its annual anti-drug abuse and trafficking seminar billed for June 26, 2025, with a clarion call to government and individuals to join in the crusade against illicit substances.
According to the Chioma Ajunwa Foundation president and former Olympics women’s long jump champion, Chioma Ajunwa-Oparah, the event billed for the National Institute for Sports Gymnasium at the National Stadium Lagos, will attract eminent personalities who will be speaking at the seminar with the theme “Golden Dreams without Drug Abuse or Trafficking.”
“The central theme for this 2025 seminar “Golden Dreams without Drug Abuse or Trafficking,” is meant not only to educate the youths on the dangers of drug abuse, but also to let them know that they can achieve their dreams without taking mind benders or engage in the illicit trafficking of drugs.
“Today more youths because of economic and social pressure are falling back on drugs to escape reality, illicit drugs are readily available on our streets and there is an alarming rate of youths indulged in drug abuse and trafficking,” Ajunwa Oparah said.
She noted that across Nigeria and Africa the effects of drug abuse are becoming more pronounced with an increase in the number of youths falling off the social ladder and roaming the streets in distress.
She added that young Nigerian entrepreneur who have made it in life with drugs will be on hand to speak to the youths drawn from schools and sports clubs in and around Lagos State.
