The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has declared controversial Nigerian musician, Darlington Okoye popularly a.k.a Speed Darlington, wanted for alleged rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking among the offences.

NAPTIP said in a statement that the singer failed to appear several times on invitation to be questioned over claims made by him that he had sex with a 15-year-old girl.

In its official Instagram account, NAPTIP posted : “WANTED BY NAPTIP: Darlington Okoye a.k.a Speed Darlington is wanted in connection with alleged offences including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking. Anyone with credible information on his whereabouts is urged to contact NAPTIP immediately. Call: 07030000203, info@naptip.gov.ng.”

According to the NAPTIP, which was signed by the Head of Cybercrime Response Team, Ngamaraju Mangzha, Speed Darlington received the invitation to present himself to the NAPTIP office in Abuja on May 30, 2025, but he never appeared.

The statement indicated Speed Darlington’s Instagram posts and other archived videos contains “admissions and degrading commentary on minors.

“These actions, if substantiated, constitute offences under the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015, and the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015,”

However, Speed Darlington did not show up despite the deadline slated by the Agency. The singer turned to Instagram to release an official comment denying that he had done anything wrong as the controversy intensified.
